 Program Director - Self Sufficiency
JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary
Program Director has the primary responsibility for planning, supervising, coordinating, and evaluating the activities of staff assigned to the Goshen HELP Self-Sufficiency Program. He/she ensures compliance with Federal or State regulations and Goshen HELP policies and standards.
Level of Performance
Employee is expected to provide the highest level of customer service for both internal and external customers. Uses authority of position to make independent decisions to effect successful transactions with customers, ensuring the agency's reputation as a leader in excellence. Commits to accuracy, quality, and confidentiality. Employee understand and contiguously practices agency policies and procedure in personnel management and program operations compliance.
Essential Functions

  • Establishes work plans and case load.
  • Assigns duties and responsibilities.
  • Coordinates activities of staff to ensure compliance with grant conditions, agency standards and policies.
  • Maintains job results by orienting and training staff; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; monitoring and apprising job results. 
  • Advises employees on problem resolution.
  • Designs and maintains systems for appropriate documentation, record keeping and reporting.
  • Collects, analyzes, and summarizes customer data on goal achievement.
  • Set goals with team and executes implementation of goals.
  • Prepares regular reports for management and funding sources.
  • Reviews and revises CSBG refunding application, work plans, and budget annually.
  • Ensures program expenses and budget remain in alliance during program year.
  • Reviews and updates standard operating procedure manual, program brochures, application, etc., as needed.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reading publications and online professional journals; establishing networks; and participating in professional groups.
  • Assesses customer satisfaction with case management services by designing and implementing satisfaction surveys and other research tools; analyzing and interpreting results. Applies feedback to improve staff performance and service or system improvements.
  • Participates in designing and implementing fund raising activities. Researches, writes, and prepares grant applications.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by the executive director to ensure program goals are met, agency policies are followed, and agency performance standards are achieved at the highest level.
Position Qualifications

Displays passion and optimism that inspires respect and trust of others. Mobilizes others to fulfill the vision. Must have the ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work related problems. Must be able to organize and direct a project to completion. 
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Counseling, or related field with 3 to 5 years professional experience working with economically disadvantaged individuals and families and a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience is desired.
Must have have or be able to earn within 2 years of employment certification as a ROMA trainer.
Certification as a housing counselor, financial counselor, or Community Action experience is preferred.

Salary is a base of $40,000 per year depending on experience. No health insurance. Paid personal leave is included.
